Why My Students Should Stretch Before Every Lesson

Activate mobility before a round for improved results.

As a PGA Golf Teaching Professional, I’ve taught thousands of golf lessons, and one pattern stood out early in my career—most students show up cold. They step onto the tee box tight, stiff, and unprepared to move the way we need them to move. For years, I went right into swing mechanics anyway. But I’ve since learned that is a  mistake.

Now, I encourage a dynamic warm-up before every session. When my golf students spend just five minutes with Cart GymTM, everything changes. They move better. They respond quicker. They feel the club more naturally.

Improved mobility leads to better tempo and body awareness, allowing us to implement swing changes more quickly. The difference is measurable in both feel and performance. It’s not about fitness, it’s about getting ready to move well.

To get the most out of every lesson, start with movement. A quick warm-up could be the best change you make this season

If you’re serious about playing your best golf—whether you’re just learning or chasing a scratch handicap—I can’t recommend enough, properly warming-up. Cart GymTM makes it as easy as stepping out of your cart, and stretching with purpose.

I like to say, don’t waste your strokes at the beginning of a round. Start strong. Warm up right. Your scorecard will thank you.
